What We Can Learn From Our Service Men and Women

If you ever have the chance to visit Arlington National Cemetery and watch the changing of the guard for the tomb of the "Unknown Soldier," do not pass up the opportunity!

 

It's breathtaking how reverent the patrons at the cemetery are and how precise the exchange is. The practice is sacred.

 

As we celebrate and honor the men and women who gave everything in the line of duty this weekend, we hold in reverence the cost of such a gift. It imitates the greatest love that Jesus tells us we can display:

 

"There is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friends."

John 15:13 NLT

 

Jesus gave His life for mankind, serving us. He tells us that we, His students, are not greater than their teacher in Matthew 10:24.
