Tasha Layton: Meet Her in the Valley
Posted 4 weeks ago - Sep 17, 2026
From: RachelleWould you volunteer to be dropped off in the “wild” without Bear Grylls or some other knowledgeable survival expert?
If one of us has even toyed with this idea, it’s more than likely because Hollywood has shown us a condensed version and the “rough cut” has even been romanticized.
If yours truly were dumped into a dessert surrounded by wild things without a “safety” or having earned a scout’s survival badge…NO WAY would I do it!!
However, one of your favorite KSBJ artists did!

For three days, Tasha Layton stayed in “Death Valley,” near the border of southern California and Nevada. She closed herself off from the outside and opened herself up to what God might have for her.
Not everyone would be able to do such a thing or even desire it, but her desire to be fully present to God’s presence is enough to inspire us toward daily opportunities. Can I quiet myself for a few moments and be “still” in God’s presence.
She shares a bit about some of that journey here:
