Former CEO & Founder, RTIC Coolers

John Jacobsen, is founder and former CEO of RTIC Outdoors. In this role, he built RTIC into the largest direct-to-consumer eCommerce provider of premium coolers, insulated drinkware and products for outdoor enthusiasts. Currently, the Company offers a broad portfolio of RTIC-branded products under its “Overbuilt. Not Overpriced.” promise. John recently sold a majority interest of the company to a private equity firm but remains actively involved with RTIC as a Senior Advisor and as a Board Member of RTIC Outdoors.

Prior to RTIC, John’s entrepreneurial experience includes founding companies in a variety of industries including O&G exploration, business consulting and retail. In his various roles, John provided strategic oversight on product design and development, marketing, financials, technology, and operations. John also previously worked as a CPA for a Big 4 accounting firm. 

John and his wife of 25 years, Gena, have two children, Joshua and Alex. Josh recently graduated from Baylor University with a major in Information Technology and Alex is currently attending Baylor and majoring in Marketing. The Jacobsen’s reside in Cypress, Texas and are members of Second Baptist Church. They are actively engaged in several charitable organizations in the Houston area.
